Dental Crowns & Bridges

Crowns and bridges are among the most common restorative procedures in the dental industry. We can help restore the look and function of your teeth that have been lost or damaged through custom restorations. Innovations in technology have allowed us to offer uncompromised aesthetics with all-ceramic restorations and near indestructibility with the implementation of zirconia.

Why Do I Need a Dental Crown?

Often problems like decay, cracks, and discoloration affect your health and smile. As we age, so do our smiles. Dental Crowns can not only help you regain a youthful smile, but can be an integral part of restoring your oral health. The condition of the tooth may dictate extra protection, because sometimes a filling or tooth bonding isn’t enough.
Crowns are created from a number of materials. They can be constructed of zirconia, porcelain, porcelain fused to metal, or a full gold crown. We can design the crown to match the shade of your natural teeth – restoring your natural smile.

How is a Crown Applied to My Tooth?

Crowning a tooth takes 2-3 office visits.
Your health and comfort are our top priorities, you will be given a local anesthetic to eliminate discomfort.

  • Your tooth will be reshaped to insure the permanent crown will fit perfectly.
  • A mold of the tooth is taken and sent to our dental lab. Your custom, permanent crown will be created to our specifications.
  • Temporary crown is applied to your tooth.
  • Once we receive and quality check your permanent crown, you’ll be asked to return to the office and you will again have a local anesthetic applied to numb the area.
  • We will then place the tooth with cement.
  • Follow the aftercare instructions provided to you.
  • Enjoy your beautiful smile!

With proper care, your new, permanent Dental Crown can last 10-15 years.

What is a Dental Bridge

Dental bridge is a procedure to replace missing teeth. By using your existing teeth, a bridge is created to span area of the missing teeth.

How is a Dental Bridge applied to my teeth?

  • The base for the bridge is created by altering your existing teeth into abutments – like Dental Crowns to which the bridge will be attached.
  • A mold is taken of the area and sent to a dental lab. This mold is used to create an appliance that will not only fit properly but it will also and feel as close to your natural teeth as possible. A bridge normally consists of two crowns and the pontic, the replacements for the missing teeth.
  • We will fit you with a temporary bridge to protect the abutments and the gum area.
  • Once we receive and quality check your Dental Bridge, you’ll be asked to return to the office. The bridge will permanently placed with a bonding adhesive.
  • Follow the aftercare instructions provided to you.
  • Enjoy your beautiful smile!
